that it takes one 15 year old tree to produce half a box of it.

Cutting down on the amount of paper we use in the office is
a great way to start making a positive impact on the environment.
THE GREEN TIP…..REDUCE:
i.
Encourage double-sided printing and
photocopying.
ii.
Proof documents on screen before printing out.
iii.
Print only what you need.
iv.
Set print range so you don’t print with no text
or with no important text.
v.
Recycle blank pages that come out of the printer
accidentally.
vi.
Don’t over order print brochures and reports.
vii.
Reduce packaging waste- buy frequently used
items in bulk.
viii.
Check you are not wasting paper unnecessary
papers comes in different weights.
A lower weight (eg 80
gsm or 100 gsm) is good for internal functions.
ix.
Cut down on the use of “Post it” notes by using
scrap paper and paper clips.
x.
Use emails wherever you can and only print out
when absolutely necessary.
REUSE:
i.
Use scrap paper for notes not new sheets of
paper or letter heads.
ii.
Keep a box closeby to the photocopiers for
keeping paper for reuse.
iii.
Reuse envelopes whenever possible in inter
office communication.
iv.
Reuse paper folder, filling cards and other
office items as much as possible.
RECYCLE:
i.
Paper often makes a large proportion of office
waste. Instead of sending used paper to landfill why not reuse/ recycle.
ii.
Every ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees.
iii.
Paper manufacturing is the third largest user of
fossil fuel worldwide.
iv.
Paper manufacturing is the largest industrial
user of water per pound of the finished products
